Written in an insomnia-driven stupor, Maladaptive Daydreams sonically illustrates the dissociative experience of excessive fantasization: eerie, muddled, low-fidelity. Produced, written, and performed by artist Hailey Simone, she herself has struggled with such a phenomenon and channels similar themes creatively throughout her music.
